Genuine OEM Engine Components
An engine is made up of many working parts to power your Porsche vehicle. Here are some of the important components and when to replace them:
Piston and Rings: Pistons move up and down within the cylinder, and piston rings seal the combustion chamber. You should replace them if you notice poor compression or knocking sounds. Typically, this happens around 100,000 to 150,000 miles.
Cylinder Head: The cylinder head houses the valves and spark plugs. Over time, it can warp or crack due to overheating or other issues. If you experience loss of power or coolant leaks, it might be time for a replacement, which may happen around 100,000 miles.
Timing Belt/Chain: A timing belt helps synchronize the engine's moving parts. You'll want to replace them based on the manufacturer's recommendations, which is usually every 60,000 to 100,000 miles.
Spark Plugs: Spark plugs ignite the air-fuel mixture in each cylinder. They need to be replaced every 30,000 to 100,000 miles, depending on the type of plug and your model's specifications.
